INTERBLOGATORY THURSDAY
If you're a Republican who lives in NY State, you've probably resigned yourself to the idea of Her Royal C winning re-election in November. Spencer, a conservative, is working to oust her, but this is NY, after all, so let's be honest: he stands little chance. According to all the polls, she's popular in this very blue state. If you feel as though getting rid of the shrew is hopeless, and that a vote for Spencer will be lost, then blogs4bauer has an alternative for you! And for those who live in Connecticut, you can get in on the fun, too.

8 Weren’t we just told that anti-Semitism is a vile offense? Nets Ignore Cynthia McKinney Entourage's Election Night Meltdown: McKinney’s campaign entourage now includes members of the New Black Panthers. After her primary defeat Tuesday to Hank Johnson for Georgia’s 4th Congressional district, some of these folks went on a bit of a rampage referring to white reporters as “crackers,” calling her opponent an “Uncle Tom,” blaming her loss on Israel, and shouting anti-Semitic epithets at a Jewish reporter.
8 NewsBusters has coined a great term: Fauxtography
8 TW Dave, who is finally up’n’blogging again, reminds us of what it took to defeat an enemy on AUGUST 9, 1945: 61 years ago today, the world changed. Read the timeline of events that day and how a couple last minute changes diverted history, and the lives of thousands.
I've been wondering if the other two Chicks are p-o'd that Natalie opened her BIG MOUTH and slammed Bush, because doing so definitely hurt their image. From Cindy Adams (link will time out tonight): The Dixie Chicks just had to postpone (another word for cancel) 14 cities on their tour. Besides that, bookers are citing advertising, promotion, convention center costs, etc., etc., and blaah blaah and threatening to sue for $3 million in losses. We're talking Dixieland country. Places like St. Louis, Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis. Ticket sales went slack. The fan base went slack. Even when albums sell well, everyone's big money is in the tour. The word is, it's politics. The famous anti-Bush sentiments.
Speaking of Her Royal C, Cindy Adams writes (in that same column today): I asked pollsters about Hillary. Lee Miringoff and Barbara Carvalho, Ph.D.s, directors of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, told me: one-fourth of the people won't vote for any woman; one-fourth of the people will vote for a woman regardless of who, what or which. Then, of that quarter, half will vote only for a woman Democrat while half will vote only for a woman Republican. So, to begin with, Hill starts out with only a small chunk of the electorate.
