JUST TAKIN' A BREAK
Is it just me or is Madonna trying to morph into the late'n'fabulous Madeline Kahn? As though Madonna/Madge/Hester could ever hope to fill Kahn's shoes! DogMan will always remember her in Young Frankenstein ( "Oh my God. Woof." ), but my favorite Kahn performance was as Miss Trixie Delight in Paper Moon ( "Took me years to get bone structure." ) .

8 P.I. Polly gives her main squeeze, “LHM,” his first tour of a morgue: We've got a full house...a couple of fire victims...some decomposed bones. Traffics. There are so many bodies, in fact, that we ran out of trays and have had to start stacking them on the floor. LHM is taking it all in. I try to remember what it was like seeing this for the first time and I suddenly become distinctly aware of the stale smell of cold death that is nearly identical in all ME coolers...the smell that I've become so accustomed to that it rarely even registers in my conscious mind anymore.
8 According to The Donald, Life is Never Easy, Even When You're Doing Well: The fact is The New York Times is going to hell. They published a major story about me on Sunday that they knew was wrong. On Sunday morning, right after the paper came out, my lawyer got a call from a lawyer at The New York Times asking if we wanted to correct the story. He didn't even wait until Monday, probably because he figured the lawsuits would be filed by then. The paper's editors knew the story was wrong, but they wanted to try and sell newspapers.

8 Closer to home, and my pocketbook ... Corning Natural Gas in a whole helluva lotta trouble: Corning customers may experience winter bills that are approximately 55% higher than last year, compared to statewide average bill impacts of approximately 30-45%.

The guidelines in the Commission's policy statement were developed to shield customers from price volatility and, had they been followed by Corning, the cost of natural gas reflected in customers' bills this winter would likely be lower than current projections.
-- Staff of the Department of Public Service is investigating the management of Corning Natural Gas to identify steps that must be taken to better manage the company's fiscal operations and practices for securing natural gas supplies. The Commission ordered Corning to show cause why a temporary operator should not be appointed.
