IT'S BEGINNING TO FEEL A LOT LIKE AUTUMN
Shhhhhh! I hesitate to say this but we've been having some gorgeous weather for the past few days. Days in the 70s with brilliant blue skies, low humidity and sun-sweet breezes. Nights meant for sleeping. The chilled mornings feel like September. I know it's only temporary, but it does re-enforce the fact that there is a God after all.My son-in-law, C.O., co-owns property which they use for hunting. He's talked about his land for years, about the "tower" he built. Yesterday, he took Little H and me up to his land. The access road to this property is not a road at all but a rocky rut straight up an incline as steep as any roller coaster. Once you reach the top, the rut levels off and becomes a primitive trail, fraught with tree stumps, wending its way amongst the still-standing trees. But the trip was worth my nightmarish ride. The clearing where the tower sits is beautiful!
The tower rises at least 20 feet heavenward. C.O. is very proud of it as he should be. Little H and C.O. go up there often to work on it -- yesterday they painted -- and they even spent the night there recently.

I've been wondering if the other two Chicks are p-o'd that Natalie opened her BIG MOUTH and slammed Bush, because doing so definitely hurt their image. Besides that, bookers are citing advertising, promotion, convention center costs, etc., etc., and blaah blaah and threatening to sue for $3 million in losses. We're talking Dixieland country. Places like St. Louis, Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis. Ticket sales went slack. The fan base went slack. Even when albums sell well, everyone's big money is in the tour. The word is, it's politics. The famous anti-Bush sentiments.
Speaking of Her Royal C, Cindy Adams writes (in that same column today): I asked pollsters about Hillary. Lee Miringoff and Barbara Carvalho, Ph.D.s, directors of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, told me: one-fourth of the people won't vote for any woman; one-fourth of the people will vote for a woman regardless of who, what or which. Then, of that quarter, half will vote only for a woman Democrat while half will vote only for a woman Republican. So, to begin with, Hill starts out with only a small chunk of the electorate.

Folks figure $2,000, give or take a few bucks - what with parking, dinner-for-two, baby sitter, etc. - is too much to hear "People who love people are the grabbiest people in the world" again. Although, per recent photos, there is lots more of her to see these days. Now officially laying claim to The 200-Pound Gorilla label, Miss B.S. is currently working to lose a few before starting the tour.
What the woman is not willing to lose, however, is bread. The stuff about some designated portion going to charity is a nice catch-all afterthought. This once more FFFFF (friggin'-final-forever-farewell-farce) is a big-time payday deal. And she's already pocketed the millions. In advance. All of it. Before the tour begins. Maybe as much as $80 mil. She doesn't personally give a fig if behinds fill the seats or not. Her deal was cut back aways with the promoter. She already got paid. In full.

So why is everyone pickin' on Mel? I was hoping I'd wouldn't feel the need to blog on Gibson for a while. However, I see this picture of him all over the Net. Mel: the Left's poster boy for bigotry, even though they've had a perfectly good one in Robert "Sheets" Byrd, who used to be some high muckety-muck in the KKK. The picture is linked to AN URGENT POLL!!! for NewsMax. Of course, in order for your vote to count, they want information on you so you can be bombarded with requests for money. Ahhh, no thank you.Today's TAS had another article on Gibson, this one about some of the movies he's done. Oh puh-leeze, Mel Gibson is an actor, not an historian!

MEL'S KIDS 'TERRORS' OF MALIBU: One local tells us that Gibson's kids, a daughter, 26, and six sons ranging in age from 7 to 24, "are the holy terrors of Malibu. They do whatever they want."
According to one story repeated by neighbors, Gibson's high-school sons tried to buy two kayaks from a surf shop and demanded the store put them on credit. When told the family didn't have an account there, a source says, "They got very angry and started shouting, 'Don't you know who we are?' " (Staffers at Zuma Jay's and the Malibu Surf Shack, the two kayak stores in Malibu, say they don't recall such an incident.)
Malibu resident Shari Nassimi also finds the Gibson spawn wayward, but in an unspecified way. In a letter to the editor of Surf Rider News, Nassimi writes, "If Mr. Gibson would only pay attention to his own family and children, [who] have had issues of their own . . . he would [stop] perpetuating what he points to in others as evil."
Meanwhile, despite Gibson's apparent dislike of Jews, there are some he likes a lot. His long-time personal bodyguard is an Israeli, Avi Korein, 45, and his publicist, Alan Nierob, is the son of Holocaust survivors.

I'm caring for Little H today -- had to get up at 4:00a.m. -- so I won't be blogging up my usual storm. I'm using Nurse G's iMac, at least I think that's what this is. It's an Apple laptop with a finger mousepad, and I HATE FINGER MOUSEPADS!! I had hopes of actually posting something, but the posting site looks different; it's lacking all the options. I can type this and publish this, but I can forget about adjusting fonts and size and colors. I can't add links or pictures, either. >:O So, this is it, just a message to say that this is it.
