WHY MEN CHEAT
Wouldn't y'know it; the one thing that drags me back to blogging turns me into a scold -- during Christmas, no less.
David Zinczenko is the editor-in-chief of Men's Health, where the subject of s*e*x seems to be the favorite topic. David also blogs and has written a piece called Why Men Cheat, in which he suggests instead of dwelling on what happens after the cheating takes place, one of the ways to perhaps prevent infidelity is by knowing a little bit about why men stray. I'm not offering them as excuses, merely explanations as to what happens in that brain (and other body parts) of his-in hopes that you might be able to prevent it.
He then lists 4 explanations which read an awfully lot like excuses and which seem to put the blame, and the onus, on women in the process. The first one he lists is "To Fulfill His Biology." Biology? Puh-LEEZE! That's just downright insulting.
When anyone cheats -- men and women -- it's because they choose to cheat. It isn't "an accident." It doesn't "just happen." Nobody -- not a frigid wife or a distant husband or the neighborhood nympho -- forces them to cheat.
If there weren't literally thousands of comments posted on this piece already, I'd tell David to grow up, that real men (and women) don't cheat.
Why does anyone cheat? Because they choose to, that's why.
