Ye Olde 43%
We were told that they were sharing a private moment while on vacation, unaware that the press and photographers were infringing upon their ickiness. Then-deputy White House press secretary Joe Lockhart fumed, "We stupidly assumed they'd be granted some privacy."
Yeah. Right.
They thought they could turn Slick's philandering lemon into lemonade with Hillary's 'evil' joke: Clinton grabbed the mike and told the audience that the questioner wanted to know "what in my background equips me to deal with evil and bad men." She then smiled, raised her eyebrows and nodded knowingly at the questioner.
Except she couldn't handle her husband, which causes people to wonder how she could ever handle terrorists hell-bent upon our annihilation.
The Clintons are still using their old play book, thinking their victory is just a matter of packaging.
'HOW TO TALK ABOUT BUBBA FATIGUE & IRAQ': A "talking points" memo distributed to Hillary Rodham Clinton's supporters gives them the carefully crafted campaign line on how to deal with a host of nettlesome questions, including Bill Clinton being a drag on his wife and the former first lady's guarded personality.
Written scripts are nothing new for the Clintons. They were highly scripted for their '92 campaign. Back then the plan was named The Making of a First Family: a Blueprint.
The "General Election Project," as the plan was called, covered everything,
right down to making the Clintons seem more warm and cuddly and even making images real.
Yet, after fifteen years of getting to know HRC, including eight years in the White House and at least one term in the Senate, Hillary Clinton's support has remained unchanged at 43%. Just like Slick's.
